Our basic motif

In previous cultural epochs “the chosen” participated in processes of individual development behind the walls of a monastery, temple or mystery centre.  They went through designated trials, rites of passage and thresholds, which tested them on their developmental journey. – In modern times this developmental journey is a condition of daily life – whether recognized or not.  We are having to meet challenges, trials and thresholds on a daily basis.  Can we read them and work with them to become more aware of their significance, rather than being driven by our conditioning and reactive responses?  If we can, our inner development happens as an open mystery in everyday life, a condition that Rudolf Steiner predicted would become general as a phenomenon of the new mysteries of the will.

 

Biographical Keys and Life Phases Workshop

Biographical Keys and Life Phases is a foundation seminar guiding into Life Story Work. It is designed for everybody intending to 'take charge' of his/her own life’s journey, and offers a deeper understanding of the physical, social and spiritual developmental stages in ones life.

Participants take this course for personal and professional development and it has proved to be especially beneficial for individuals in social, therapeutic, educational, organisation-development, and personal-development or training professions.

This initial 4-day process provides the foundation for a possible series of training workshops. They lead from systematic work on one’s own biography through themes related to destiny and social interaction, preparing the participant to facilitate Life Story Work with others.

Karl-Heinz studied Social Sciences and Psychology in Berlin and has worked in adult education since 1988.  Investigating new methods of adult education, he came into contact with the Centre for Social Development.  From 1992 to 1997 he attended a training in Biography Work led by Gudrun Burkhard (MD), and started his first own Biography Training programme in 1998. He is registered as an Alternative Practitioner in Psychotherapy in Berlin, Germany.  He currently offers Life Story Work and Biography Trainings in Germany, Britain, New Zealand and Australia.
