  • The Helping Conversation; an exciting course with Karl Heinz

There is still time to enrol on the course Karl Heinz Finke will be running at Sydney Rudolf Steiner College. Karl is well-known to regular participants of courses at Sydney Rudolf College and has a well-deserved reputation for running highly professional, exciting courses. He describes his course on the 'Helping Conversation' as a 'striving towards authentic and compassionate interaction', offering the following description of the programme which involves two weekends.

In this course we practise how to follow thoughts, sense emotional messages and grasp underlying motivations (or will directions) in conversations.  The workshops aim to help us become aware of the different approaches we can take to meet daily interactions in life more consciously, more effectively and less charged.  Communication skills are introduced through the exploration of seven approaches derived from Seven Planetary Qualities.  By emphasising the importance of authentic and compassionate interaction, we aim to widen our range of listening and responsiveness.  We also focus on how to create open spaces and open questions.  We will also explore the potential for self-development in the challenging encounters with other people.  Typical incidents out of personal experience will be explored to find individual patterns and personal styles of action and reaction in challenging situations.  We will also explore ways to defuse or un-fuel conflicts or challenging situations.

The weekends begin on Fridays between 7.00pm and 9.00pm, continue on Saturdays between 9.00am and 6.00+pm, and complete on Sundays between 9.00am and 4.00pm. The first weekend is on the theme:Learning, exploring and applying the process. The second is on Recognising dynamics and working with open questions

Fees for each workshop are $330 including a non-refundable deposit of $80. The participation in September is only possible after prior participation in July
